To apply for the APS certificate, Indian students need to:
- Understand the specific requirements for their case,
- Collect necessary documents,
- Register online at the APS website,
- Transfer the processing fee of INR 18,000,
- Submit all required documents along with the online application form.
The required documents typically include a filled and signed application form with a passport-size photo, a copy of the APS fee transfer receipt, a copy of the Aadhar card with linked mobile number, copies of passports, mark sheets, degree certificates, and language certification in English or German. The processing time for the APS certificate is approximately 3-4 weeks, and upon successful verification, applicants will receive a digital APS certificate valid for three years, necessitating renewal afterwards.
There are exemptions to the APS certificate requirement, such as students funded by Germany- or EU-based scholarships, Ph.D. applicants whose supervisors do not demand the document for registration, and those holding international certificates from schools or universities.
It’s advised that students apply for the APS certificate well in advance due to the processing time and to avoid any delays in their university application or visa processes.
